Santa Cruz OG

Respect the classics. For those who find OG Kush too energetic comes NorCal’s old-school, pre-’97 Santa Cruz OG, available at Holistic Health Care Collective in San Jose. This pheno takes the beloved OG Kush line and reportedly crosses it with Afgooey. Afgooey itself is pretty complex, mixing near-pure indica Afghani #1 with tropical island sativa Maui Haze. Meanwhile, OG Kush is similarly transcontinental, thought to be Chemdawg with perhaps a Lemon Thai and Pakistani Hindu Kush. Bottom line: our senses are swooning for this mélange of citrus, and black pepper. These buds are big, round and dense, with gorgeous trichome patterns and a patchwork of greens, purples and rust colors. This beautiful, thick girl will lock up a grinder, yet smokes extremely smooth, creating a relaxing, sedative effect. Patients with chronic pain, nausea and other core indications for medical cannabis use have reported finding relief with this 50-50 hybrid. Cruz control—engaged.
