Lip-smacking. Tart and sweet. Goes down smooth on a sunny day. Such is the description we’d invoke when describing Cannabis Lemonade, the newest edible (or should I say, “drinkable?”) available at Green Thumb Connoisseurs in Riverside. Naturally, medicated beverages have been done (teas, hot chocolate, sodas, smoothies, etc.) and done well—but this is the first time we’ve run across a lemonade. Too bad because this beverage (made by The Venice Cookie Company in Los Angeles) is an absolute delight both as medicine and a cooling drink. We were told it was medicated with an unknown hybrid, but our instincts say Cannabis Lemonade was made with a sativa-leaning strain since we found it a bit on the uplifting side and kept us chatty, good-humored and relaxed during the evening. Each 16-oz. bottle (we sampled the original and Strawberry) comes packed with 1.68 grams of medical cannabis. Our reviewers sampled an entire bottle and there were modest psychoactive effects, but of the lucid, clear-headed variety. You’ll wish you had a lemonade stand that carried this.
