Crystal Coma

Patients and dispensary workers in the Inland Empire city of Fontana have had a rough time of late dealing with the Blue Meanies. That’s unfortunate for a lot of reasons, given the fine-quality medicine typically found in the city. An outstanding example of this is Crystal Coma, which we scooped up as fast as we could at Fontana’s Holistic Meds RX. A hybrid heavy on the indica, this ultra-strength (27-percent THC) natural wonder holds its own against such legendary strains as Northern Lights and Durban Poison in aesthetics and potency. Almost disturbingly skunky to the olfactory sense, the jade- and copper-colored buds of Crystal Coma produce a smooth, refreshing smoke somewhat similar in taste to clove cigarettes. The high can only be described as “mounting”—it builds and builds before hitting a plateau about 20 minutes after inhaling. The deep-seated, stress-free buzz makes it perfect for soothing anxiety disorders and rheumatoid arthritis and for relieving nausea. If there’s one downside to Crystal Coma, it’s the cottonmouth—you’ll want to keep some water or other liquid refreshment on hand to reduce that parched feeling.
