Purple Gorilla

The Bay Area’s favorite color is purple, judging by its love affair with all things purple cannabis. It’s driven breeders into hybridization so complex, the name indica or sativa means little. What matters is the purple pigment anthocyanin, and Revolution Heath Center in San Jose has an interesting purple-colored sativa going by the name of Purple Gorilla. Quite popular in the Bay, Revolution’s Purple Gorilla has a sativa’s medium density and shape, and a very complex, pretty hybrid bouquet of cherry, grapes, citrus and spice. On the grind, hints of mint come out, but on the smoke it’s the spice that lasts. Patients report relaxing, pain- and stress-relief effects from Purple Gorilla. Useful to treat some types of chronic pain, repetitive stress injuries, migraines and other symptoms.
